morning pumpy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24am
Mr. Pumpy:

morning, brother. My favorite Cure from 10th grade was probably...The Top? No...that came after the fact. Head on the Door changed my life!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28am
Sully510:

Checking in from San Francisco. Sounding great!
Avatar 3:31am
Jeremiah:

Morning Sully! Where in SF?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37am
Mr. Pumpy:

Hey, San Fran!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44am
Cooh John:

Time to lament.
Avatar 3:45am

You're just in time apparently
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56am

Good morning Jeremiah and all

Morning Fred!
Avatar 4:02am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Good morning Jeremiah and all. Hey Fred
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03am
fred:

I remember a show where Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp had a Pianocktail in the room
Avatar 4:04am
Jeremiah:

Forgive me but what is a pianocktail?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05am
fred:

@Jeremiah: it's a piano that mixes a drink as it plays. It comes from a book by Boris Vian
Avatar 4:06am
Jeremiah:

no way.
Avatar 4:10am
Jeremiah:

I need a turntable that does that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14am
fred:

@Jeremiah: I think there might be a market for that... Become the next gazillionaire and make the station safe forever
Avatar 4:16am
Jeremiah:

Will do. Of course the best way to make the station safe until I work out the kinks is to hit that pledge button ;) tell your friends
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34am
fred:

Whenever I see the word "kitchen", I thing of Martha Rosler's Semiotics of the Kitchen
Avatar 4:37am
Jeremiah:

I'm unfamiliar but I'm assuming it's a feminist deconstruction of the symbology of the kitchen and it's place in society? God I forget everything I once knew about semiotics. Now kitchen just means kind of a mess and a subpar dishwasher that's not pulling its weight.
Avatar 4:37am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Rocking’ song!
Avatar 4:39am
Jeremiah:

Another Naya Beat jam. I'm almost through the comp. Bittersweet.
Avatar 4:39am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Warm in NJ. Listening in shorts and with window open. Probably the last time I’ll be able to do that in a while.
Avatar 4:40am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

I say bittersweet a lot
Avatar 4:40am
Jeremiah:

Yeah it's been pretty warm. I was DJing at a bar Thursday and I was just sweating the whole time.
Avatar 4:42am
Jeremiah:

Well this song is bittersweet cuz so long holiday on the beach
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43am
fred:

@Jeremiah: I think you assume right. But it's fun, she goes through kitchen utensils in alphabetical order, though she goes off the rails at the end, in a good way
Avatar 4:43am
Jeremiah:

Except for Scott I guess
Avatar 4:44am
Jeremiah:

@fred cool. I'll look out for it
Avatar 4:45am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Where’s Scott anyway? Miss his g’days.
Avatar 4:48am
Jeremiah:

yeah what's up with that? well absence makes the heart grow fonder I guess?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53am
fred:

Hopefully he's plotting that show from Trash Cult for the Sheena stream. Sounds late for a hangover from there, but that could happen too (my experience has been that post-lockdown barmen tend to offer me free drinks when I'm about to leave, I pay for them in a different way the next day)
Avatar 5:01am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Same here Fred. That delicate balance of drinking juuuust the right amount
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05am
fred:

@Ivan: I know, but refusing a free drink or three would be rude, and going against some deeply held values
Avatar 5:05am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

I was in DC last week. The cashier at Kramer books recognized my Wfmu t-shirt (I always try to wear them when out of town during warm season)
Avatar 5:07am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Sure would Fred. I really love the gesture actually. It moves me emotionally. Of course, I’m already buzzed and sentimental when it happens, but still.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10am
fred:

My WFMU T-shirt situation is already well out of hand, I have more (well over a hundred) than non-WFMU ones. Usually the people who notice are in bands I'm seeing that night
Avatar 5:11am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Wow Fred!
Avatar 5:22am
Jeremiah:

I was just thinking today I need to shed some tees but nothing like that damn
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27am
fred:

That chat sent me counting: 124 WFMU T-shirts, with 10 more coming (and I gave away a handful)
Avatar 5:31am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Look out, here comes the shift
Avatar 5:32am
Jeremiah:

haha
Avatar 5:33am
Jeremiah:

Fred that's too many you're nuts
  5:35am
@julielinor:

Morning Jeremiah, Morning Everyone 🤍
Avatar 5:36am
Jeremiah:

Morning Julie!
Avatar 5:36am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Hi Julie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38am
fred:

I'm nuts about the station, I own up to that
Avatar 5:39am
Jeremiah:

Clearly! I'm just impressed there are that many shirts period.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44am
fred:

Over 19 years, they pile up, literally
Avatar 5:47am
Jeremiah:

I suppose so!
Avatar 5:47am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

I also go back about 20 years Fred. I don’t keep mine after they get worn out (I throw them into one of those clothes donation boxes) but it would be nice to see some of those old ones again. I probably forgot about many of them.
Avatar 5:56am
Ivan from Woodbridge:

Enjoyed the music Jeremiah, and enjoyed chatting Fred and Jeremiah. Have a great rest of the day guys
