Chicago-born (enter no fewer than 5 superlatives here) drummer Tony Williams left us far too soon at 51, but what joy to celebrate not only his life and music, but that of Japanese pianist, composer, and big-band arranger Toshiko Akiyoshi as well - on her 91st birthday. Maybe she's listening.
