It works of what I need. I can't stack anything since I am only 5 ft tall. Would rather not have to deal with a ladder.

Back many years ago, a friend who was also a lunatic collector had a living room with stacks and stacks of LPs. I was there once when he needed to change a light bulb-he put a few piles together, got up on them, and did the lightbulb change (now he's got multiple terabytes of music on a server, less clutter, but not sure he's able to change light bulbs any more)

Nice looking, but a bit expensive, and I've run out of wall space, piles in a corner of the living room right now...

I remember when I moved, and had many of those racks. They don't look like all that much in terms of weight, but the movers gave me such dirty looks as they carried them in the house.
I haven't done an LP count in a while, but I'd guess in the 6-8,000 range (last time I tried to count, in the 90's, it was about 4,000 in my living room, excluding basement overflow at the time. And the CD;s...and the hard drive...

The holder with the software CDs is now filled with music CDs and is about 3 feet high, so the LP stack is about 4-5 feet. In the background you can see the top of my LP shelves. I don't remember the exact height, but over 8 feet. It holds 6 or 7 rows of LPs and one row that could hold CDs, two high. I have 3 cabinets, each one about 4 feet wide. They were all full and then I had about 8 or 10 of those 4+ feet high piles of LPs on the floor. The cabinets were a wedding gift from one of my brothers in '88. At some point I think I figured that the cabinets held around 7000 LPs. I've bought or otherwise acquired only about 30 LPs since 2009, shifting to CDs and digital. And still I don't have most of what I like and hear played on WFMU. Go figure.
Crazy thing is that I've kept the LPs and cabinets in storage for 10 years. Oy vey.

Yeah, the shelve were nearly full when I moved in about '98. All the thrift store purchases of the early zips went into about 6 or 8 milk crates and then started the piles like the one in the photo.
