Time to celebrate, Jan!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Such a relief to be able to sit at a table at the Turkish cafeteria nearby again. Everyone got tea on the house :-)
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:26pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I also did an interview with a local artist there, which you will be hearing in the Zwolle-section next week.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:26pm
Candy-O'67:

Jan, you've still been in lockdown this whole time since 2020? Wow! We were only in total lockdown for a couple of months here. Been back open for a long time.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Candy-O'67:

I'm so happy for you, Jan!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Jan Turkenburg:

No, we went into lockdown again half-way december.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:28pm
Jan Turkenburg:

still this was a tough one
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:29pm
Jan Turkenburg:

We were already in partial lockdown since the end of october
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:31pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Infection rate is still rising, but hospital situation is stable and the new minister of health, epidemiolgist himself said the lockdown was harming public health too severely now.
Avatar 12:31pm
worldsworstrecords:

wasn't there a 10pm curfew or similar in place for months?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:31pm
Candy-O'67:

Oh, ok. Glad it's over for you!!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
Candy-O'67:

It's blown through here, too, but I think for most it's just been like a bad cold now
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:35pm
Jan Turkenburg:

There was a 8pm lockdown, not really a curfew. There is still a lockdown from 10pm till 5am now and several restrictions and QR-code obligations, but cafés restaurants and theatres are open again till 10 pm

Mr Fab:

Cool song, but isn't c.1967 a bit late for this kind of sound? Perhaps Merseybeat didn't go out of fashion as quickly in the Netherlands as it did in US/UK?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Jan Turkenburg:

everything happened later in the Netherlands, MF, but perhaps you're right.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I was a rather progressive RC secundary school. We used to sing this at school services. I played the violin part on flute (very proud I could manage)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
MHLee:

I kinda dig religious rock... but more of the jesus freak vibe... the orchestra on that one was nice
Avatar 1:02pm
Mr Fab:

There are two kinds of people: "Jesus Christ Superstar" people and "Godspell" people.

Go "Jesus Christ Superstar"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm
MHLee:

The recordings with Ian Gillian on them are great
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:09pm
Jan Turkenburg:

There is a Dutch JCS album by singer Bojoura accompanied by Focus no less. That version of 'everything's alright' is my favorite of all renditions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm
Wenzo Toad:

what about Jozeph & the amazing technicolored dreamcoat people? It was a faaabulous coat of many colors... it was pink and meauve and feutia and orange it waaas a wonderful coat of many colors, it was tan and red and white and off white, it was yellow and turquoise and majenta and peuce
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm
Wenzo Toad:

it was black and brown and ochre and maroon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
MHLee:

Catchy track, Mary's Mamma
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I realize there are only a couple of jcs tracks on that jcs album, but her band was Focus alright
Avatar 1:13pm
Mr Fab:

I think both "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Godspell" people can join together as one over "Joseph & the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat."
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:14pm

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:27pm
