Mr Fab:

Welcome all to a special, one-hour-early particularly provocative 2-hour episode of Provocative Percussion.
Avatar 3:05pm
Rubberband Girl:

Yes, Fab – not as percussive as usual but definitely provocative! I hope.
Avatar 3:06pm
David in California:

Hello, Mr. Fab and RBG. I had thought I might be alone here. But I was all right with that.
Avatar 3:07pm
Rubberband Girl:

I had a thought I might be alone, lol, but that wouldn't be so terrible for a QA. That being said, I'm glad to see you both!

Hiya DJ RBG, folks!

Wenzo Toad: I'd like a β€œporcupine day” celebration, if any DJ wants to throw one!
Avatar 3:24pm
Mr Fab:

David in California: agreed, hadn't heard of it, but it's cool, it isn't based on hate, like those dreary "Men Going Their Own Way" types.

Muddyrich:

Where are the visuals?
  3:27pm

That could be possible, though actually all the other things a working a lot smoother than when I listen on the laptop

Checked on the laptop, I see visuals in the playlist…the playlist on both my devices seems to be upgraded, did something improve in the last week?

Mentioned this meme to my sister-in-law recently. She didn't get it: "Relationships are just two people constantly asking each other what they want to eat, until one of them dies". We've been married to our respective mates for decades. So I thought it was hilarious.

RBG, are non-QAs sometimes reluctant to date QAs out of fear that the QA will be too individualistic?

Great to hear you. I'm glad to be married, even if romance as such isn't there right now. I love being in a partnership with someone who I know and who knows me. We almost split 3 years ago and I would have really lost a lot of that happened. We had to reset, but it was worth it.

Thank you for that, Gren, and welcome!!

Oh wow, a party I was actually invited to! This doesn't feel weird at all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm
Jan Turkenburg:

My wife and I were soulmates. We really felt that way. When she died, the first two - three years there was a very powerful longing to fill that emptiness with another person. Now, after 5 years and a few probably unavoidable mistakes, I'm moving towards quirkyalone (as I understand it) more and more.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm
Feldy:

I grew up in the midwest (Michigan) and people are programmed to "settle-down" super early. I had to get far away from all of that nonsense
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm
Wenzo Toad:

thanks Jan. and condolences. been meaning to say that for a while. I feel for ya... my dad’s been dead for almost 15 years & my mom is still pretty heartbroken so... feel like I kinda understand... tho it was a lot different situation for me obviously, but just from seeing my mom go through it. glad you’re more at peace with it now that’s wonderful
Avatar 4:09pm
Rubberband Girl:

Oh, Jan!! Thank you for sharing that. Much love to you.

You are as lovely and whimsical as your programs, Jan. Dollars to doughnuts, I'd bet you made your wife laugh and smile a lot. That's worth its weight in gold. Wishing you nothing but solace as we navigate the feelings of the heart with you.

Avatar 4:22pm

My dad and I went through it when my mom passed in 2014. We don't get along that well due to poor decisions he made when I was young. He also lost his mom when he was 26. It was a very weird time. Haven't really felt like I had a family since since she was the only person I was close with.

I think it is a further challenge with regard to dating, when there is no connection or chemistry it is a reminder/slight return to that feeling of loss at times
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm
Jan Turkenburg:

@Hyperdose, of course there were less funny times in those 26 years and if someone could make people laugh it was her. I learned a thing or two from her.
Actually she made me laugh posthumously, the other day when I was cleaning uo the house. I found these notes, about our first talk about how the funeral should be like. The first thing she said, apparently, was: "it has to be long!"
  4:26pm

Are they also quirkyalone?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm

I don’t want a funeral. Id like my next of kin to mail a spoonful of my ashes to each one of a list of friends & family & do with them/honor me in whatever way feels appropriate to them. Is that weird? Hopefully I have several decades to think about this, ,-@:9 not sure if mailing human ashes is legal here

Thank you, Jan. The biggest takeaway from the death of my mother and cat (last summer, still slightly destroyed from it) is to remember the good times. I've found the memories of all the times they went out of their way to make you feel special, outweighs the pain of their absence.
Avatar 4:42pm
David in California:

Mr. Fab, regarding Dion, I've always thought that the lyrics of "The Wanderer" and "Runaround Sue" reflected a double standard.
