Right, efd? K8 is telling me I'm not allowed to continue the two-source experiment, but I think many FMU DJs would approve!

I *think* 91.1 is one of the emergency back-up modules? It started with "Angst in My Pants." The stream is picking up Todd's convo (hot mic!) and was getting some of his tunes.

Conversely (?) - Elton's 'PinballWizard' (& performance in the weirdass Tommy film) are pretty great. Not everyone can take TheWho on that effectively...

@dday: progressing nicely. Little scarring on chest. Gotta figure out how stay protected from the sun for a year. In Florida, that can be tricky. Currently, listening to Todd and shopping for protective head and face gear. Thanks for checking on me.

@ morphe. Actually, turns out the fall was a "red herring" to another related health issue...BUT happy to report hearing remains perfect, vision less-so...so radio and streaming music has happily become my "alt" to t.v./reading. Damn, missed the Elton conversation while I was closing up at work. Elton was my first arena show, Nassau Coliseum 1972. Joe B. reminded me that it had opened that year. Two things come to mind: 1. Cool. 2. I'm frickin' old.

Frank in my boro: Actually, Frankie Laine, of all people, does a good version of "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" on there too, and Tina Turner (Come Together) & Rod (Get Back, which I think is on a collection of his too) are good, from what I remember (heard the album years ago, never saw the film---which apparently is too embarrassing to even be on VHS or DVD). And Roy Wood & Jeff Lynne are on it too (separately).

John L: I saw Elton the year after at the same place, one of my first big--arena-rockshows, & he did a bunch of stuff from "Yellow Brick Road" (inc. Funeral/Love Lies Bleeding) which wasn't even out yet (we only knew "...Saturday Night," since it was a single then). And for the encore, "Honky Tonk Women" he brought out Bernie & Loudon Wainwright, I think....I have some of it on a cassette somewhere.

Enjoyed greatly in the nosebleeds. I recall sewing a quilted faux denim with star "bolero" number to wear to a mid 70s show... combined with a several blocks long ticket purchase lineup from 7am on a Sunday snaking to reach the one dept store outlet selling physical tickets...true story.
