My parents had one of those wood paneled station wagons and there was a sliding glass window as the back window of the station wagon. The all the way back seat was a coveted position because it actually faced backwards so if you sat there you could see all the people driving behind you. And as we got older mess with them a little bit. Great memories w/my brother!

The 'Starbucks metric' is a good way to relate the real-world equivalent of ponying up, and I suppose the target demo also has the requisite guilt bone. Another way to reorder your 'charitable giving' is to not round up or give a $1 to spurious charities at chain convenience stores who should give from THEIR profits and not squeeze the customers / employees.

Hi all! @morphe, just one caveat: it has to be a normal (pay-per-ride) Metrocard to work on the PATH train. No unlimited ride cards (7-day, etc.).

@Handy, if you use PATH more than once in a while, I believe you save money by getting one of those SmartLink cards and putting 10 trips on it. With Metrocard I think you are paying full price... but that's only $0.25-ish more, maybe. Also the SmartLink is a contactless "tap" card, so fewer errors.
