Yeah I was stunned by the HiDef on one hand - to get that much more access to what happened in Abbey Road for it ...& on the other thot the Remixes were a crapshoot in terms of Artistry. I fear I become a Tourist in my own Culture sort of. But I'll listen to everything they got...

Deluxe versions: I have a bunch of Caravan records. I also have a box set with most of their early albums, a dozen or more. I just purchased another box, 35CDs. Consequently, there are a bunch of duplications.

The Dogs were in top form. I last saw them in 1978 at a high school in Southern California. Told Mary and Lauren; they were pleased to have a long-time fan in attendance.
Avatar 11:08pm
Julie:

hmm I'm not sure I have any Caravan..must investigate
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm

Seems (so far...) that Caravan has some Folk elements (being Canterbury I presume). Not quite Fairpoint or anything - they're definitely Prawg - but some of that tone ...but I don't know them enuff yet.

  11:30pm
Dean:

Caravan is Canterbury in at least a couple senses. First, the members are closely connected to the bands we tend to identify with Canterbury, Hatfield & the North, for example. Second, while Pye Hastings' pop sensibilities obviously command the direction of the group. they are an ensemble that resorts to the "classic" Canterbury sound of reedy keyboards and songs that both engage prog tactics--virtuosity and bombast--and avoid them. Many of their songs aren't exactly folky, but they are less proclamatory than, say, ELP.
