Same with my wife. One day we were on a date and all my hidden cassettes flew out from under the seat, and she picked up Henry's Big Ugly Mouth and was insistent that we listen to it. She immediately fell in love with it. I started worrying about her attraction to psycho recordings - Hahaha! But over the years, she's written to him on a few occasions, and I think he's written back every time. Even as recently as last year after we saw him in Cleveland. The excellent thing about Nardwuar's interviewing persona is how he disarms many of his interviewees. Once they are confused, annoyed and flummoxed, he then asks very super-specific & smart questions; which they often answer more openly than they might have if it weren't for all the nonsense that preceeded the smart question. Eventually many interviewees knew what they were up against & happily played along with the ridiculousness; but it's always an interesting game of roulette to see where the Nardwuar interview labyrinth leads...
