Interesting, in this live track I can better ID the instruments, am I correct that we are just hearing: guitar, bass guitar, saxophone (alto, I think), organ, drum set. Although I guess on some of the studio recordings there were some nonwestern instruments, which you mentioned earlier and which I don't know.

	9:50pm northguineahills: one thing about the molam vocal style, is that it reminds me jamaican toasting (if one accounts for accent, speech, etc). I've heard thai hiphop, but none of it reminde me much of molam. then again, molam is a rural tradition far from urban centers such as bangkok... just my sxng santang....

	9:54pm peter: ↳ WR @9:41 yeah! the track is pretty representative of a modern molam (specifically lam sing) show.. long, extended medleys and vocal asides, including singers sparring lyrically, roasting audience members, etc.. definitely more of a standard rock combo set-up in this style too.. the main local instruments incorporated in the studio recordings would be the khaen (แคน), the free-reed mouth organ, and the phin (พิณ), a guitar-like fretted lute, although some tracks (especially the slower numbers) might feature wot (โหวต) a sort of panpipe, and of course the ฉิ่ง-ฉาบ (ching and chap), finger/splash cymbal pair
