With billows and blasts from choirs and orchesters
Buskers and talkers
Big bands and squawkers,
the Stork Club has retained its qualities of decaying elegance and dwindling significance since the late 1950s.

* Abated Breath
2oz Glen Passaic
cello sponge
paper grocery bag
This nostrum from the psychiatric appendix to the Stork Club Cocktail Bible makes use of capillary action to produce its sedative effect. Fold paper bag flat, open end toward you, and draw on it a life-size innocuous smile, using whatever lipstick, ink, or iodine falls to hand. Pour Glen Passaic in rocks glass. Add sponge, standing on end, with bottom in liquid. Balance glass on head, invert paper grocery bag over head and glass together, with bag's opening resting on shoulders, innocuous smile facing forward. Breathe deeply until relief from fiscal anxiety or respiratory arrest ensues. The innocuous smile ensures that you will be left undisturbed until the vapors have been inhaled in full. Should paper bags be unavailable in your area, a souvenir tote bag or t-shirt (with arm and head openings tied shut) from your local public or community radio station may be substituted, at some cost to anonymity.

Myself - I was quite fortunate to meet a friend who had pure, potent LSD of quality provenance diluted in water in a Visine bottle so one could control the dosage. If I could go back - I'd probly have stopped while I was ahead like that ...tho I had one notable trip in the Arizona desert on the way to the West Coast in which I Saw the Goddess...
