The sound of the 60s becoming the 70s...and beyond! Late-era garage and early hard rock, with a pinch of more "modern" sounds thrown in for flavor. Fuzz, frets, riffage, and wattage. Let your hair down on WFMU's Rock And Soul Radio and get a taste of the "Hard Stuff".

Hey Frank and gang — just tuned in and saw you played “Theme…”, one of the best things Mountain did (among several great things) and absolutely some of the best guitar playing by anyone. Saw them many times, so good, so loud.

Hey Myron! Great to see you this weekend. There was no way I wasn't playing "Theme" during this hour. One of my fave tunes. The only question was which version to play. But in the end, it wasn't much of a question after all.

The first three (including the jazz album with Hiseman, Heckstall-Smith, and McLaughlin) are essential. Unfortunately, the drugs bogged him down starting in the mid-70s, but he rebounded a bit later in the decade and always managed to come up with something great and eclectic. When I found out about the Kip Hanrahan records he did in the 80s, my jaw it the floor.
