The very word 'Pop' implies consumable disposable transience ...yet breaking the 2:30 Radio Single barrier was a major marker of the CounterCulture taking over all that mess. & to me 'Prawg' most fundamentally is anyone taking Rawk 'seriously' - as Musicians, Ideas, what have you - & as Art - & relating to other Genres, like Classical & Jazz & International Musics. All of which inevitably involves being Longer... Of course, this was in its DNA coming out of Psychedelia - with which one's attention span is chemically modified... & - the cornerstone of the whole Concept Album notion is, I think - that Albums are (were??) - Albums. & that they did, in fact, last that long. Medium is Massage & so on...

The very word "Pop" was originally just a shortened version of the word Popular.

Like so many words it's shortening became a dirty word in music

I listen to what many call power pop just as much as I listen to prog (progressive) or any other music.

I wrote a short piece called "Labels" back in 2014 while waiting for a workmate to appear on the job.

i know they are necessary, but when their connatation becomes negative..are they really helpful?

Society 's gotten really lazy with acronyms, shortened words etc. Don't get me started on emojispeak.

I've always been considered to be kind of verbose.

I will usually explain what I'm trying to get across in detail, so just for me, if the short version leaves too much open to misinterpretation I tend to not appreciate it.

Labels of course are necessary..like "poison" etc.

Not saying that disrespectfully of her or her fans or of anyone's tastes, I just never have.

I will say, she a master social media marketer which in the world of music today is necessary.

The Swifties brought Tickemaster to Congressional hearings and caused at least some minor changes to their monopolistic greed. Gotta give them credit for that for sure.

her record sales are the result of fan obsession, or "club mentality".
