the rothko chapel was great, as always. usually, when i'm there, i try to view the paintings from the center of the room, at a distance. this time, i looked at them up close.* it was a very different experience. very peaceful. and air conditioned.
*i recently read that rothko said the ideal viewing distance of his paintings was 18 inches...
