My father stole a spoon at Motta, which was a famous gelateria (in Milan maybe?) My mother-to-be encouraged him to. Then when the waiter came with the bill, my dad stood up to get his wallet out, and the spoon fell through a hole in his pocket and down his pant leg, and landed with a loud *ting!* The waiter noticed but was too polite to look down, and my dad grabbed it with his toes (it was hot and he was wearing sandals), and so walked out with it. Of course the spoon had been lost by the time I heard the story.
