At the beginning of 2023 I had about 4 friends, 2 of whom are to some degree malignant narcissists and sociopaths, and another who is now gone completely maga and q-anon. And I am glad that I have shed them, even though it means more isolation. But I've been somewhat isolated most of my life. Still, I can't pretend it's not hard. It is really challenging to exist in this world.
