MORRICONE ISLAND is a weekly film and television soundtrack radio program on WFMU hosted by Devon E. Levins. The show was conceived in 2007 and transitioned over to WFMU in 2014. THE MORRICONE ISLAND INTERVIEWS podcast features the in-depth conversations with film and television music composers and the related soundtrack industry and fan community.

February 27, 2024: MIN XIAO-FEN
Pipa soloist Min Xiao-Fen discusses her new album "Metta" on Asian Improv Records of music she composed for live scores of 1930s Chinese silent films "Romance of the Fruit Peddler" and "Romance of the Western Chamber," both to be performed at this year's Big Ears Festival alongside percussionist River Guerguerian. Min performs traditional Chinese classical, jazz, free improv and experimental musics with the likes of John Zorn, Derek Bailey, Wadada Leo Smith and Björk.
