I listened to the ODB podcast it was a really cool historical perspective, it covers the Mariah era. It's called "ODB: A Son Unique" . Really well written with this undercurrent of exploration of self - I can't explain it, but the writer made it VERY COOL.

Tim R. interview is quite a score (imo).
You’re well connected BB. 😉
Info geek queries:
Topsy Turvey, what is Tim R’s theatrical group name?
(Did he write or direct the play?)

Atwater Village Theatre :
‘Pang Spa’ = (chalk rep . com)
- writer ✍️ David ______ ?

¿ ‘Two Stop’ : a play ? =
= (this sounds right in my wheelhouse)
- @ burning theatre ?

I’m all about the small intimate ‘contemporary’ theatre.

Explain this for me…relate to your pal, struggle to enjoy RENT (especially the insufferable film version!), yet really enjoyed “tick Tick TICK BOOM”💥 wish to check out a theatre production. But will be hard to top the film adaptation concept with the very beguiling talents of Andrew Garfield !

Cool game! Let's see... 1) The Actor's Gang 2) He Wrote & Directed & wrote the music. 3) David Johann Kim 4) Two Stop a play produced by Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA at Atwater Village Theatre.

- gonna cheat/sneak preview: My All-Time fave un-produced audio musical (that I’m sure will never be realized) is Van Dyke Parks’ “JUMP!” (1984).
Check it out. I posit it’s one of those quirky audio masterpieces. I suggest setting aside abt 45min & try listening all the way thru. as a 19 year old, it took me abt 3 listens to realize I had run across something very unique and special. As a kid, I grew up with the Joel Chandler Harris stories (I realize he’s no longer in favor).
So be it - we move on.

Video was really fun as well (I think there were a few video versions - including one that was animation ?) both great fun as I recall.

While we are at it - video wise : another niece hepped me to that stellar Kylie Minogue video where she keeps meeting new versions / doppelgängers of herself throughout… (perhaps by stone cold ingenious Michel Gondry !)

Video bonus : catch & release other trippy art videos by LONDON GRAMMER (not recalling the title ! - argh 🙄)
& a fave Cibo Matto’s heady lil “sugar water” video.

To Anybody - why the F isn’t ‘London Grammer’ as appreciated as Portishead & etc. fantastic ‘trip hop’ type vibe band. Love ‘em !

Yer In legendary company with Mr Chusid - he proclaimed his happy delight how much he appreciates WILLOW & her singing style(s).
  1:59am
air-eco-vert:

Dua Lipa almost stole the show in an inferior but fun lil
Throwaway movie ARGYLLE - almost seemed to have limited her role cause the camera gobbles her up too much. Perhaps she’s an actress as well ?
Btw: Bryce Dallas Howard is really commendable in that one.
