Aloha, all!

I vaguely remember there was a "Kenny Everett Video Show" when I was a kid. Pretty sure I watched it, but have no recollections of it.

I used to watch it on Saturday mornings while my parents went grocery shopping. I think it was after Dr. Who with Tom Baker IIRC. Both shows were syndicated to NYC TV stations.

We got a LOT of British TV here in the 70s and 80s. I lived with my English great-grandmother for a time. Kenny was part of the day.

I missed the intro but I know that is Captain Kremmin and Carla. Carla was drawn and styled as a bimbo but she ran the show. Many blue jokes.

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 8:05pm

I feel like such a hillbilly sometimes. I never saw any English TV until I lived on my own, minus the times my dad would be watching PBS, and Monty Python would accidentally come on after he had wandered out of the room.

We had a lot of TV limits when I was growing up, and it was usually on the weekends where I saw anything interesting. My dad was famous for watching TV from the other room. (He would watch a little of something, then wander off, leaving it on after him.) Most anything that wasn't "Rockford Files" was something I accidentally saw after he had wandered off.

It was a little different after the divorce, but I was also a little older, so I wanted to listen to the radio more anyway, and spent more time reading. But I certainly spent a fair amount of time when I lived on my own at first, just watching old TV Shows, completely unrestricted.

Hell yeah! I used to have a wonderful radio as a kid that could tune in radio from all over, and occasionally, the audio from TV stations. I remember having my mind blown, listening to old radio dramas, never realizing there had been stories like that before. Finding good stuff on the radio became a bit of a quest...

ha! Me too, every Saturday. When I was allowed to use the grown ups section, I felt so grown up (probably at about 12). I read every book in the kids section. I recently bought an old set of World Book. Some of it doesn't hold up well, in its descriptions of world geopolitical entries. And its only the 2000 edition.

Correct. We got rid of them all in 1993, I think it was. There’s been some turnover again once or twice since then. I think Ocean 100.3FM would be the closest to CHTN now. I don’t know if they use that call sign, though. That was a staple in my childhood. 720 CHTN, Good times and great oldies!
