That was our Greek Mythology party complete with a Pegasus, the acropolis and Olympic games. The pandemic put an end to that tradition sadly but I hope to start it up again in some form one day

I changed the stylus every 100 discs 200 sides. The software that comes with the turntable is useless, Audacity is free & works fine. I can even edit waveforms very accurately, takes a bit of skill. Then I made MP3 copies of everything so I can play them from USB sticks in my car (that's all my 2010 Hyundai can play). They also act as a backup to my external HD backup where I have the Audacity files, as well as AIFF & MP3 copies of everything so If I lose the AIFF's I can convert the MP3's to AIFF's and back again.

I worked in a pro studio under one of the bst engineers in the biz (Chris Andersen, Todd Rundgren's right hand man) so I've heard plenty of great audio. The thing is, how good is your hearing? Can you actually hear the full range of audio? Many can't. Also what are you then playing the digital files back through? How's the reproduction range on that gear? I'm not that picky anymore. Most of my listening is in the car which isn't a really high end repro system. good luck & happy listening & recording.

In 37 years living in southern California, I probably experienced 4 or 5 palpable earthquakes. I changed the stylus every 100 discs 200 sides. The software that comes with the turntable is useless, Audacity is free & works fine. I can even edit waveforms very accurately, takes a bit of skill. Then I made MP3 copies of everything so I can play them from USB sticks in my car (that's all my 2010 Hyundai can play). They also act as a backup to my external HD backup where I have the Audacity files, as well as AIFF & MP3 copies of everything so If I lose the AIFF's I can convert the MP3's to AIFF's and back again.

I worked in a pro studio under one of the bst engineers in the biz (Chris Andersen, Todd Rundgren's right hand man) so I've heard plenty of great audio. The thing is, how good is your hearing? Can you actually hear the full range of audio? Many can't. Also what are you then playing the digital files back through? How's the reproduction range on that gear? I'm not that picky anymore. Most of my listening is in the car which isn't a really high end repro system. good luck & happy listening & recording.
