I know that Albini did not necessarily like every band that he recorded, but the similar strain in recording techniques was a good premise for a freeform set. There will also be more recent releases recorded by Albini.

Kelly as a headliner just to be jerks, in the same neighborhood where he was committing his acts. It was actually the only time I went to Pitchfork Fest, because my friend had a table selling vinyl, and he brought me in as a helper. I mainly wanted to see Liars and Os Mutantes, don't remember what else happened. Bought a lot of records that day. Sweep The Leg Johnny was one of them...

	4:27pm fred: ↳ Mr Fab @4:14 Kawabata was amazing selling the mime set. Acid Mothers Temple can be a lot of fun. At a show he smashed a guitar and threw the pieces in the crowd during the encore. Then did it again. Then again (I was on the side and saw he had a fourth cheap guitar at the ready, I guess the show didn't go well enough to deserve that)

It was nice, but the best part to me was a pic a friend got between Kawabata and Haino (she was translating). The contrast between the colorful, smiling one and the stone-faced, dressed all black with a cane guy couldn't be better (I'll let you guess which is which)

	5:03pm fred: Another friend did her PhD thesis on the noise/DIY scene in Paris. The defense was funny, with half scholars half freaks audience. One highlight was the scholarly discussion of Whitehouse's A Cunt Like You. More to the point, she had an IRCAM researcher do an analysis of a Merzbow track (that researcher is a gem of a guy, when she crashed her computer he did the interview again)

	5:03pm fred: Another friend did her PhD thesis on the noise/DIY scene in Paris. The defense was funny, with half scholars half freaks audience. One highlight was the scholarly discussion of Whitehouse's A Cunt Like You. More to the point, she had an IRCAM researcher do an analysis of a Merzbow track (that researcher is a gem of a guy, when she crashed her computer he did the interview again)
