The Radio Is Broken is a three-hour spelunk through the canyons and fissures of humanity's collective unconscious. It sounds as if a field recording of the Culture Industry were a sonic juggernaut barreling down a rickety track—except that tunnel ahead is just painted onto a sheer cliff wall. With occasional forays into what might pass for "normal" music. Prerequisite journey: Cratedigger's Lung

In 1958 Varese participated in World Fair in Brussels that got a lot of attention. He presented works with 400 speaker surround sound in a special built pavilion. There was light show. Craft had good track record with Columbia for the Stravinsky recordings. Early stereo recording included a lot of sound experiments to show case the stereo. A perfect positive storm for there to be 2 recordings released by Columbia.

These probably would've been pricier but they were used, found nicely priced at my old school Gen-X style used record store.

I concur tttps… super great to hear these deeper cuts of more obscure Ennio! I don’t believe I’ve yet to hear these outside of the films. Are these on 2020 reissues? Brilliant (as always!)

I don't know. That store has an amazing turnover of soundtrack stuff. TONS of soundtracks to movies I don't particularly care about. I am imagining someone just buys every soundtrack that's available and either gets tired of them, or rips them, or something.

Seen the film “A Quiet Place in the Country” (1970)
(apparently aka ‘psycho’?) - it is really quite engaging & worthwhile in that artsy euro early 1970s way! - Love those motifs.
