5 oz Rittenhouse rye
1 good bottle-dash (probably 2 official measured dashes) Angostura bitters
stir with ice (or swirl with ice in the cocktail shaker without shaking)
split between two freezer-chilled coupes, with one Luxardo marasca cherry in each.
Sip, enjoy, feel stress melt away.

Not only is it darned tasty, but as a mixer of drinks I do love me an equal-parts cocktail (especially if there's fresh-squeezed juice involved)!
You just squeeze your (lemons in this case), see how much juice they yielded, and then use that same amount of the other components! No bar arithmetic required.

We've recently been doing more things which call for Aperol than for Campari, and K's always been doubtful about Campari's signature bitter note; that flavor is farther down in the mix with Aperol.
