	👻 11:45am AMYGDALA: ↳ Delicate Chester @11:17 In the past, from roughly the beginning of 2024 to mid-October 2024 as the show unfolded for the day, I used to post the list of songs as a series of comments on the comments board, which in hind-sight was a bit cheesy. The static playlist that was posted didn't offer much, as it wasn't tied to or in sync with the pop-up player which appears as part of the archived show. Thankfully, in the fall of 2024, Station Mgr. Ken kindly invited me to keep track of DJ Jeff Sarge's weekly list of sweet tunes by using KenzoDB's WFMU active-playlist editor and database - a thoughtfully conceived and amazingly powerful platform. I use the song recognition apps Shazam and SoundHound in conjunction with the playlist editor and database to produce the active playlist in as close to real-time as possible. For songs that aren't recognized by the apps, or for ones that I don't know, I use the WFMU software to provide hints - guessing at the song title or artist name and hoping for a match from the immense pool of entries. As the entries in the song database continue to increase over time, and as I learn new tunes here in the schoolroom, the guessing becomes easier. If all else fails, I go back and fix the list based on DJ Jeff’s back announcements. There is a downside to producing the active playlists using the methods described. Given the occasional delay incurred in fiddling around trying to figure out the song details over the duration of the show, a lag develops between the posted time and the actual time on the song timestamps. Once the end-of-show archive data is compiled later in the day, I correct any erroneous timestamp entries and, if necessary, I also correct the artist name, track name and other details.

	👻 11:45am AMYGDALA: ↳ Delicate Chester @11:17 In the past, from roughly the beginning of 2024 to mid-October 2024 as the show unfolded for the day, I used to post the list of songs as a series of comments on the comments board, which in hind-sight was a bit cheesy. The static playlist that was posted didn't offer much, as it wasn't tied to or in sync with the pop-up player which appears as part of the archived show. Thankfully, in the fall of 2024, Station Mgr. Ken kindly invited me to keep track of DJ Jeff Sarge's weekly list of sweet tunes by using KenzoDB's WFMU active-playlist editor and database - a thoughtfully conceived and amazingly powerful platform. I use the song recognition apps Shazam and SoundHound in conjunction with the playlist editor and database to produce the active playlist in as close to real-time as possible. For songs that aren't recognized by the apps, or for ones that I don't know, I use the WFMU software to provide hints - guessing at the song title or artist name and hoping for a match from the immense pool of entries. As the entries in the song database continue to increase over time, and as I learn new tunes here in the schoolroom, the guessing becomes easier. If all else fails, I go back and fix the list based on DJ Jeff’s back announcements. There is a downside to producing the active playlists using the methods described. Given the occasional delay incurred in fiddling around trying to figure out the song details over the duration of the show, a lag develops between the posted time and the actual time on the song timestamps. Once the end-of-show archive data is compiled later in the day, I correct any erroneous timestamp entries and, if necessary, I also correct the artist name, track name and other details.
