I have a lot of Clifford Jordan, can't seem to get a bead on his style. Usually some personality, preferred riffs/unique approach jump out when I like a soloist, haven't been able to pin down Jordan.

Re: Distinctive tenors
I was in a shop this afternoon and thought I was hearing Coltrane. I asked the owner, and he said it was Sonny Rollins. I was suitably chastened... until he looked it up and realized it was Tenor Madness! Coltrane and Rollins together!
(In fact, I was probably wrong in my guess anyway, but I got some cred with the owner.)
