It has been tried for centuries.
We still have deeply immoral humans as well as very moral ones.
And one's morality can be different from another's.
Law as a rule is black & white.
Of course with the proper legal representation it can be severely twisted

I guess I lean towards the other definitions as I've had to deal with "the law" in the statute sense for many instances in life & my career.
I still would prefer it to be "The Mathematically Proven Theory of Gravity" but that doesn't have the same "gravitas" as The Law of Gravity :)
See what I did there ? :) heeee hee

This is a general physical law derived from empirical observations by what Isaac Newton called inductive reasoning.[4] It is a part of classical mechanics and was formulated in Newton's work Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica ("the Principia"), first published on 5 July 1687.
The equation for universal gravitation thus takes the form:
F = G m 1 m 2 r 2 , {\displaystyle F=G{\frac {m_{1}m_{2}}{r^{2}}},}
where F is the gravitational force acting between two objects, m1 and m2 are the masses of the objects, r is the distance between the centers of their masses, and G is the gravitational constant.

F = G * M1 * M2 / r^2.
That's Newtonian. For Einsteinian gravity it's a bit more complex, with tensors, not going to get into that here. Newtonian gravity equation works well except in the case of extremely strong gravitational fields, like near a star or black hole.
