Busy news week, mostly bad.
One rare good thing to me was the pardon of Leonard Peltier

It's a weird thing, the difference between hoping someone who died is compatible and hoping someone compatible dies (my Druyan/Rand shuffle's playing tricks on me)

He didn't coopt the communists (who were strong at the time) but sowed division in a left that really didn't need the prompt anyway

It was a weird time here, first peaceful transition of power in a long time, a lot of denied hopes but that came later.
But there were severe issues within the communist party that were bound to blow up

Song: "Le Froid" by "Alvilda"
Ooh this was a lovely song. Then you mic break'd, and mentioned Lincoln Ctr. And I was there; arrived at 9.45. Joe told me of issues, and I can see Scott and staff working feverishly. Jessica at her laptop as well. I chatted w staff and another wmu listener. By 11ish they started their live to tape show. Better than nothing, and the 30' I heard was head bopping fun

In college one English teacher told me not to attend her class (said I'd be wasting both our times) then for finals let me choose the subject (it was supposed to be business stuff). My pick was "small town America as seen by David Lynch". Luckily, she loved Lynch, the exam was more like fan talk (in English though), and I got an A+

These teachers had lived in English speaking countries, a rarity.
I got one failing English grade in college. 3 got that this year, the other two were an American guy and an English woman, they managed to get all the grades thrown out for not passing the laugh test
