The bus was equipped with this beeping device meant to keep the driver awake I guess. It also kept all us passengers awake! Daylight return was more relaxing.

Massachusetts to Iowa by Greyhound in late August 1978. Hot. And you know what it's like to trying to get normal shuteye on a long bus trip. A young guy among the back-of-bus characters said he brought a few downers to ration out for himself during his multi-day journey ( I think beyond Iowa), but he'd taken them all on night #1. "Slept like a baby."

I saw a post that said yesterday a Greyhound driver told an ICE agent to "gargle his balls" when the agent asked to board the bus to look for undocumented aliens. Nice!
