	2:04pm Handy Haversack: My experience with Discord is that it is an absolutely terrible method of communication with zero sense of community. It's also very much a SV surveillance capitalism platform. I would not recommend.

Guilded and a few other platforms tried to compete but if you do any kind of MMORPG you sort of need Discord at this point. If you need a hot mike for group coordination, your two choices are the usually shite built-in-game audio settings which invariably fuck up all your other playback presets or Discord. The other advantage of Discord is that if you DO have the app, you don't have to be in front of your computer if you are playing on another platform like my PS5.

Guilded and a few other platforms tried to compete but if you do any kind of MMORPG you sort of need Discord at this point. If you need a hot mike for group coordination, your two choices are the usually shite built-in-game audio settings which invariably fuck up all your other playback presets or Discord. The other advantage of Discord is that if you DO have the app, you don't have to be in front of your computer if you are playing on another platform like my PS5.
