Imbolc = Spring hath Sprung

ancient Celtic religious festival

Also known as: Oimelc
Also called: Oimelc
February

Imbolc, (Middle Irish, probably literally, “milking”), ancient Celtic religious festival, celebrated on February 1 to mark the beginning of spring. The festival apparently was a feast of purification for farmers and has been compared to the Roman lustrations. Imbolc was associated with the goddess Brigid, and after the Christianization of Europe the day of the festival became the feast day of St. Brigit.

I see the opportunities for annoyance... my beloved has never been able to sit through a single episode of the Gilmore...

...but I'm a sucker for the genre "firehose of dialogue way more cleverly crafted than real life and delivered faster than could actually happen", which means that I've always been a complete simp for anything by Aaron Sorkin, and kind of liked Gilmore Girls too.

I wonder if attraction to those two bodies of work usually skews differently by gender.

Yeah, I don't know who is playing in the large men run into each other then fall down thing.

We used to have a football day party, so we had to pay attention to who was playing in the thing so we could prepare themed foods, but we haven't done it for awhile.

Our tagline for the party was: we don't care about football, so we won't be distracted from keeping the food and drinks coming!

WFMU trivia: we first started having that party because many years ago, after we'd gotten a fancy new TV, Bill Zurat settled on the couch in front of it and said, "This is where I'm watching the Super Bowl this year!"

So we built a party around that.

But it doesn't sound like any of the original writers are on board so that's troubling. I understand Whedon not being allowed back, that's logical, and I know Drew Goddard is probably too expensive now, but they need Jane Espenson at least, and/or Steven S. DeKnight.

Also, this sounds like a revival of Buffy, not a reboot. Unfortunately they are using this word incorrectly in various articles. A reboot *should* mean starting over from scratch with new actors, like that shitty recent CBS MacGyver. Not a continuation, which, Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, is a REVIVAL.

"[Weber and I] kept changing the name. First it was the Total Quintessence Stomach Pumpers. Then the Temporal Worth High Steppers. Then The Motherfucker Creek Babyrapers. That was just a joke name. He was Rinky-Dink Steve the Tin Horn and I was Fast Lightning Cumquat. He was Teddy Boy Forever and I was Wild Blue Yonder. It kept changing names. Then it was the Total Modal Rounders. Then when we were stoned on pot and someone else, Steve Close maybe, said Holy Modal Rounders by mistake. We kept putting out different names and wait until someone starts calling us that then. When we got to Holy Modal Rounders, everyone decided by accumulation [sic] that we were the Holy Modal Rounders. That's the practical way to get named."
