I suppose you heard the news about what's going on at your former radio station. Sounds like they may be on their last legs.

I know all too well. All of us former DJ's have been trying to get control of the station before they sell it. (I'm not going back, though. My radio home is here.)

Sorry about the struggle in STL.

It's a damned shame. I listened to KDHX since the early 90s. Now it's a robot station. No live DJs.

I'll always support my former fellow DJ's. I've moved past it, though.

↳ Song: "Hungry" by "Paul Revere & The Raiders"
One of my favorite 60s bands, unfairly categorized as "bubblegum", probably mainly due to their costumes and perhaps some attempts for a commercial mainstream sound, but 'Hungry' is definitely them at the top of their form, and why they were a garage and proto-punk influence.

skrag2112:

Will you be playing some Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens later? Sad to think, Buddy would be 88 now, and Ritchie would be 83.

And "Donna The Prima Donna" as an anti-Valentine song?
Supposedly Dion had won a coin toss to be on that plane, but decided not to go because he considered 36, the cost of the flight, to be an unlucky number due to it being the monthly rent his parents had to pay for their apartment when he was a child.
  5:48pm
skrag2112:

↳ CathyN @5:41
I didn't know that. I know Waylon Jennings lost a seat to Buddy. He jokingly told Buddy "I hope your plane crashes." Oof.
Avatar 5:52pm
Mr Fab:

↳ skrag2112 @5:48
Right, I heard it was Waylon Jennings, too.
Avatar 5:55pm

Weird, looked it up and both Waylon AND Dion claimed they gave up their seat for Valens. Hmm..

CathyN:

↳ skrag2112 @4:07
My suspicion is that: 1) Since any federal funding, direct or indirect, that they were getting got shut off and likely won’t be restored since They Who Shall Not Be Named conspicuously rebranded the station as the DEI station in the worst possible stereotype of DEI. And 2) any money they got from corporations looking to burnish their DEI credentials has also probably vanished. And 3) a pretty serious lawsuit got filed last week, they decided it was time to sell the station.
