Couple years ago a possum wouldn't be scared or prodded from corner of my girlfriend's garage. Took hold of its tail and, firmly and abruptly to avoid any defensive moves, yank-scooted him out the big adjacent open door and a few feet down the driveway. Off it went. Anyone know what turntable that is to Hackman's right?

I am in Orange County, CA, where I visited a stereo store in Newport Beach that had untold millions of dollars worth of gear surrounded by racks and boxes and boxes of new LPs, including Three Blind Mice releases, some of which I believe Jeff G. played this past Sunday. Purchased three of them, but no gear, nope, not even the pair of 1/3-million-dollar monoblocks.

When I lived in Pasadena, my garage was an old chicken coup. In the back was a filthy old couch piled with junk. One day I decided to look in a long forgotten cardboard box. When I opened it a litter of squirming erase pink baby possum's were wiggling
around like maggot. I closed the box and went back in the house totally freaked out. Later, I old myself to quit acting like a baby and go have another look.

They were gone. Apparently mom heard them signaling her from what ever garbage pile she was rooting through, and high-tailed it back to the garage and cleared them out.

I never looked in that box again until Chresti and I moved years later.

I don't think I ever saw the full Poseidon flick, despite its fairly high profile then and since. But I did see the Hackman moment that stuck in my mind as a great clip for inclusion in a montage of actors launching into big overwrought declarations -- when he's hanging from a pipe at great height, delivers the histrionics and then deliberately lets go.

Yeah, but they are "forever" stamps meaning you can still use them when the rates go up.

Look I'm not saying I'd rely on a forever stamp in a post-apocalyptic landscape. But would you rely on email either?

I tried to order these last week and the website wouldn't accept the address I receive mail at or any variant thereof. Not the first time I have had issues with USPS website, alas. Will try again, or try to buy locally if I can find an office that is staffed and has them. Sad state of affairs there.
