And here is UbuWeb's mission statement posted on February 1st, 2025

A year ago, we decided to shutter UbuWeb. Not really shutter it, per se, but instead to consider it complete. After nearly 30 years, it felt right. But now, with the political changes in America and elsewhere around the world, we have decided to restart our archiving and regrow Ubu. In a moment when our collective memory is being systematically eradicated, archiving reemerges as a strong form of resistance, a way of preserving crucial, subversive, and marginalized forms of expression. We encourage you to do the same. All rivers lead to the same ocean: find your form of resistance, no matter how small, and go hard. It's now or never. Together we can prevent the annihilation of the memory of the world.

LOL! Hey, Austin!

It was recommended that I leave a gap before I connect to the streaming platform because of archive issues. That's what I get.

Well, well, that was funny, a little F bomb reward for any young Double Dippers who stuck it out through the swing and sway of 1940. I like it.

Speaking of roller coasters, did anyone see the demolition footage of the Kingda Ka coaster at 6 flags? We went to the park when my son was very young. I can’t believe people have the courage to go on those rides!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm
Krys O.:

↳ yerfriendpaul @1:30
I'd read about it, but I'll check out the footage after the show. I've mentioned this before, but I am terrified of roller coasters. I went on the Dragon Coaster at Playland Amusement Park in Rye, NY as a kid only twice. That's an old wooden coaster. I needed a name for this show and was inspired by dreams that I had and by the way my mind spirals sometimes.

I have not seen that one, have seen some, always with mixed feelings. Last one I went on was the classic Cyclone in Coney Island. Fantastic and horrifying as it is/was a wooden track!
Avatar 🎢 Swag For Life Member 1:38pm
yerfriendpaul:

↳ newton @1:34
Hey newton! I rode the Cyclone too! I almost knocked myself out while on the ride. I decided to raise my arms (like many riders do) and suddenly, the force of a sharp, speedy turn made my right arm slam my head, ha ha. Ouch!! I haven’t gone on too many coasters since. I can handle the old school coasters but these new insane ones are too much for me

In Chicago, there is the "Guitarkestra" that Plastic Crimewave puts on. I have been part of a 50 piece ensemble, but I've heard that there have been larger ones. There is also The Ferko String band, which at one point was a 100 piece marching band. Mucca Pazza is also a very large marching band, but that is not the same thing as 100 metronomes, of course...

There was a "100 man pentagram" with 100 noise artists once, I was invited to play, but never got a reply when I accepted!

We went several times as kids, yet only vague magical childhood memories - more like dreams at this point. Thanks for sharing your life stories with us and your wonderful show. 🕊️
