As you may know, Harpo Marx and Rachmaninoff were neighbors at some point. "Harpo complained to the management that Rachmaninoff's piano playing was disturbing him. Harpo knew that the management wouldn't ask Rachmaninoff to move out, so he played the opening four bars of Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C Sharp Minor repeatedly at full volume. Rachmaninoff later demanded to be moved to a cabin as far away as possible from Harpo." 🥸🤘

Roberta Flack learned Scarlatti, Bach, and Handel growing up. She went to Howard at 15, where she was the first vocal student there to sing classical. She also conducted a performance of Aida there. She was told that a career in classical music was not a realistic option for a Black woman so she became a teacher instead.

Nina Simone dearly wanted to be a classical pianist. With the help of a few supporters in her hometown, she enrolled at Juilliard. She then applied for a scholarship to study at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where, despite a well received audition, she was denied admission, which she attributed to racism.

Kip Winger of the band Winger was the principal dancer of the Colorado Ballet.

The full text of the hymn translates as:

Hail, true Body, born
of the Virgin Mary,
truly suffered, sacrificed
on the cross for mankind,
from whose pierced side
flowed water and blood:
Be for us a foretaste [of the Heavenly banquet]
in the trial of death!

O sweet Jesus, O holy Jesus,
O Jesus, son of Mary,
have mercy on me. Amen.
