It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Ashcan Orchestra
The Ashcan Orchestra is a revolving collective of skilled musicians directed by composer Pat Spadine, whose melodies, harmonies, surprising instrumentation, and electro-mechanical interfaces are unique and fascinating. This music presents as a kind of 21st-Century Renaissance gamelan; as much Conlon Nancarrow as Josquin des Prez. The instruments include strings and winds alongside handbells, toy pianos, slide whistles, oscillators, and percussion, with some elements automated by sensors and mechanical memory. This collection includes a collaboration between Ashcan Orchestra and David First's Western Enisphere ensemble.

Y'know, I totally forgot RE Ash Wednesday until I ran out for a coffee and most of the staff and half of the patrons had their ashes on. A reminder that I need to get out more. For me, seeing different groups/creeds "doing their holiday thing" in public has always been a great reminder of part of why I love NYC. Like the time many years ago, BC (before Covid), I was near Union Square to meet a friend at Beauty Bar, and passed a bunch of Southeast Asian kids covered head to toe in different colored powders at a food truck -- they had just gotten back from Holi celebrations farther afield. And then there's the good peeps from Chabad during every major or minor Jewish holiday, with their portable Mitzvot Centers aka Mitzvot Tanks. They always peg me as Jewish which is odd because for my IRL peeps here I do NOT "look Jewish" by any stretch of anyone's imagination. Funny true story: A bazillion years ago, when I worked near the bull at Bowling Green (before they changed the traffic patterns) I almost got taken out by a mitzvot tank making a wonky left turn on a stale green.

Exactly. And given the other neuromeds that I am on, interactions of a Very Bad Sort are more than possible. Even good old legal weed hits like a truck if I smoke an entire teeny dogwalker. OTOH the tincture that I sometimes take at night for assorted joint injuries is *chef's kiss* It's always great finding exactly what works for one. And, it's regularly stocked at my local dispensary.

it is very confusing how to direct a portion of S4L already made to the show (already done) to enter for on e of these lovely prizes. I called the number, but they only can do that for the broadcast stream. the web link then makes on have to redo the entire S4L renewal process which doesnt seem the right way, so I;ll just leave well enough alone
