Favoriting March 9, 2025: ALL THE MONEY (Marathon show w/ Therese)

SUNDAY NIGHT PITCREW, PLEASE RISE!

And either click here or smash that "Pledge Now" button at the top of this page to support this show on WFMU!

I'll be giving away two great vinyl LPs per hour. Anyone pledging $20 or more will automatically be in the drawings at 10 PM, 11 PM, and midnight.

Anyone who donates $75 or more will also be in the drawing for tonight's WOKE MIND VIRUS GRAND PRIZE, which is a hardcover copy of Afropunk co-founder James Spooner's fantastic graphic novel "The High Desert", PLUS a double vinyl LP copy of Blacklips Bar: Androgyns and Deviants - Industrial Romance for Bruised and Battered Angels, 1992–1995", highlighting a critical slice of NYC's early 90s queer underground.

The grand prize drawing will happen at midnight.

This is your ONLY chance to support this show during this year's marathon, as next Sunday night I'll be downstairs singing with the Hoof n' Mouth Sinfonia for the marathon finale. I hope I can count on your support!

Alexander from somewhere in Pennsylvania:

A message for potential toe dippers from some of my own reasoning for donating. Think of the cost of going out for a show. Where can you get a show every week for a year for the price of one ticket? And what does that ticket cost? Surely the enjoyment you get here at WFMU is equally valuable. Perhaps a donation equal in value to the last ticket you bought for a show would be a great way to break the ice.

2007-8 is when station manager ken really invested on the servers for the online presence to make wfmu what it is today. (although, he was a pioneer in that direction a decade beforehand after the move to jersey city)

my origin story? teenager me was flipping the fm dial when i encountered screeching weasel on pat duncan's show in 1989 or 90. over the next month i started getting into other djs' shows until i was fully hooked by the end of the year. then i moved to f'ing alabama later in the 90s and had to wait a couple of years for the tinny online stream.

My discovery of WFMU is tied to the death of John Peel with People Like Us as a gateway. The first show I listened to in November 2004 was Brian Turner's, another The Fall's champion.

My WFMU experience begins with Mike's show elsewhere. When he disappeared from there it was unsatisfactory. But the miracle of the internet led me to him here and my eyes were opened to WFMU. Counting em up I now spend some 24hrs a week streaming WFMU shows.

Mike did a fill in on WFMU just before the pandemic, then I started to listen to his show on WPRB. Fun fact: at some point Therese's show was on at the same time as Mike's.
