Mark Hurst's Techtonic program had been very persuasive on trying to adopt a non-smartphone life... but I'd still like to be able to take WFMU archive broadcasts with me on an mp3 player / on the go! The WFMU app is one of basically just a few things still tethering me to my iPhone...

What I'd suggest for WFMU is, don't give up on radio transmitting, but don't break the bank on transmitter improvements. I'm willing to predict that, as time goes on, an ever larger percentage of the listening will be done online.

Some of the “bunny problems” are because DJs aren’t doing what they’re supposed to be doing Not always, but it’s common enough.

The bunny gets all the blame unless the DJ owns up to their gaff. But yes, sometimes it’s purely tech issues that screw things up, not human error.

There’s a certain length a show can be and DJs are aware of that. If the DJ goes over that time and they get cut off, it’s on them. But again, sometimes tech issues cause that to happen. There’s no on/off switch unless the show is live and most of Rock And Soul is pre-recorded.
