@KidLunch,(et al): ‘in the garden’ is their 1st album & still my favourite by a long shot. I hadn’t listened to The Tourists back in late 70s. Yet when I noticed CAN members were appearing on this new album by a band called Eurythmics I was plunking down my $$$. Oh boy was I happy with what I heard! Never sounded the same since. Which is fine, as i love most of their other music as well. 😊

about 10 years ago my friend was in a pub in london and struck up a conversation with the (much older) guy sitting next to him. my friend asked him what he did and the guy said he made synths. my friend asked if he could buy one and the guy said sure. write me a check for half and i'll send it. a year went by and he didn't hear from the guy so he emailed him and the guy said sorry, almost done. a couple of weeks later he got a synthi A in the mail. the guy at the bar was Robin Wood (my friend didn't know anything about synths at the time and just thought it would be cool to own one)
