I don't envy this show, having to follow "Every Sperm is Sacred." :-)

But you two are making a valiant effort!

I was just thinking the other day, how Eric Dolphy is on a tangent of sorts with JS Bach, what with his somewhat playful bouncing around on the scales, a kind of back-and-forth.

Part of my practice routine is the synthetic scales that Erioc Dolphy developed. For the life of me, I can't figure out how he did that. Applying them is another story.

It is really great to hear Penderecki conducting his own compositions on the radio… I have most of his works and recordings on CD & Vinyl. But all CDs are Witt conducting, and I rarely dig into the CDs anymore.

At first, I thought there was one universal synthetic formation one could apply anywhere. Now I think there are multiple synthetic formations. Any insight would be appreciated.

1750 Arch Street is a space north of the UC Berkeley campus. It once belonged to Thomas Buckner, whom I heard interviewed there not too many years ago. I believe this recording has been issued by Music & Arts, which is a Berkeley label that I admire.

*** pardon Carol & Cullan... sorry I messed up; that was a ref. to Andy saying:
