A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

  9:34am
Pivi:

What do you mean by "almost end of the world".. What happend? did I miss something?

Is this about economy or the LHC ?
  9:38am
trouble:

i'm sorry, i need to clarify for the non-us media saturated lovely listeners from abroad. Our media is in a frenzy of unique proportion, predicting dire consequence unless the government bails out wall street to the tune of billions of taxpayers $$. that is what i was referring to. O and all the religion that encompasses sarah palin.
  9:40am
Adrian in London:

Oh, *that* almost end of the world, thanks for clarifying.
  9:41am
Listener Stu:

Chickens running around without heads! fer sure! Chemical friends song title means "Hello garbage bag" not kidding Love you Trub ....Nina Simone & Sun Ra ! Hyva Torstai

Trouble, my wife and I are small business owners. We are losing our ASS, right now! I stayed up all night playing overdubs for my bands new record, got up and took a family portrait (self-portrait) for my little girls school project, now I'm listening to your show. Hey, at least we're not living in the dust bowl. Did you ever read 'Grapes of Wrath'?
  9:44am
stingy d:

we're BOTH in love right? it's not just me right?
  9:46am
Negator:

Ever seen the movie version of 'Of Mice and Men'? Lon Chaney and Burgess Merideth? Awesome!
  9:46am
trouble:

negator, i am not dismissing the troubles. My husband was laid off in july, so we are feeling it. But the way the media/prez are painting it is insane... I hope we don't get to dust bowl proportions ever again.
  9:47am
George Bush:

Our financial system is built on a house of cards. The foundation of that house of cards is failing. You the American taxpayer is going to buy a new deck to shore up the house of cards. Thank You and God Bless America.
  9:47am
Pivi:

Just gotta love that Palin-nut.. She is hilarious!
Go creationism! *laughs*
  9:50am
sam:

this is hot.
  9:50am
Negator:

Just more Bush, doing what he always does when he wants to beat the Democrats. He just wants them to pass that fucking pacage carte blance with no oversight. One of his last power plays. His tactic is fear. I can't wait to see him in front of a war tribunal. Got any RX? 'Dick is a killer'?
  9:52am
gumby:

I beleive modern farming practices can prevent another dust bowl. I do not beleive the economy has made such advances.
  9:52am
Negator:

I told my wife she need 'distractions' (wink).
  9:56am
rzzmtzz:

I wish the teeth mountain show wasn't ten dollars :(
  9:59am
Tom:

Today's scary thought with a silver lining: When the Wall Street lay offs hit (50,000 or more?) and the City's budget tanks, get ready for housing price free fall in most of NYC and North NJ
  10:01am
trouble:

gumby I am reading michael pollen: the omnivore's dilemma', and I am not sure we are heading in the right direction with modern farming either. raising livestock on feed lots produces huge amounts of waste that can't be returned to the soil as fertilizer, because of all the nitrogen from the fertilizer. ouch...
  10:12am
gumby:

Yes, there seems to be no end to the dilemas our protein engorged mutated brains can come up with. It seems our humanocentric thought process may be our undoing after all. Go figure.
  10:12am
stingy d:

i'm just sayin - not for nothin - but you play nonstop hits for me.

i had my headphones on too loud this morning, and someone tapped me on the back and said "you got some kick ass tunes in there man"... i got all embarassed.
  10:15am
Listener Stu:

  10:37am

Good morning from the West Coast.

So, to summarize, I missed Nina Simone, Dusty Rhodes, Sun Ra, Dana Gillespie, and Rev. Gary.

A resounding "crap!", although I'm glad they were played for everyone else.

Keep up the good work, Trouble. I'm currently doing the samba.
  10:39am
Cecile:

Sounds good today.
I am so glad I have the 'FMU back at my work.
  10:41am
Cecile:

Bourne Ultimatum.
You like those movies because not only do they have plot and action, they have good writing and semi-belivable characters.
I like them cause cars go boom.
  10:45am
Cecile:

I was at an animal blessing once.
It was the most hilarious thing ever.
Take nervous cats, add friendly Malamutes, and watch the fun. Probably not so fun for the cats, though.
  10:46am
Negator:

Have you heard the new Sparks record? I would love it if you played the song 'Good Morning' from 'Exotic Creatures of the Night'. I'll be sure to attend the Woodstock thing naked, on a leash, with my pet catfish. I've looking for something like this......
