A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

stingy, good to know i'm not the only one....
  10:50am
Carmichael:

I grew up playing football (soccer here) and still boot the ball around with the kids. I fell in love with the NFL as a teen after plopping down on the California coast. These are the only 2 sports that matter to me.

And unfortunately, soccer has led to not only nationalism but jingoisim and polemics.
  10:51am
Jamesie:

Uh I really enjoyed the show but I have to go now and pick up Effric on the motorcycle - she cant go home on the tube because she just had her eyes lasered. I will take sunglasses I have been advised. xx
  10:52am
Carmichael:

Stingy, are you talking about the Roman kind of sandal? That's what everyone wears out here. It's 104 today with about 15% humidity, so your feet will thank you.
  10:54am
chris:

Damn Lee P can still throw down yo!
  10:54am
north guinea hills:

my gf is mexican, and she hates soccer b/c of the jingoism of the mexican fans, and after watching a many mexico games, i can understand her point.
  10:55am
?:

I was just thinking, literally, this morning, "what's up with all the Conan sandals these days?" that and black and white dresses
  10:58am
stingy d:

Kath:

Yes, Trouble, I have found the confirmation hearings fascinating too, but you know students (of anything other than art, perhaps) still think there is such a thing as objectivity! Maybe showing them an excerpt of the hearings would serve to open their eyes and ears - thanks for the idea!
Didn't you love the question about how she could possibly emphathize with people from "small town" America, given that she is from NYC - as if it is another planet?! Modern world, indeed!
  11:43am
Carmichael:

Parq, are you sure it was this show? :-) That title isn't in the credits.
