  10:17pm
efd:

you know, I thought it was pronounced like "can," but I thought I heard him say it the other way in the song. Must have been something else. Oh well...
  10:18pm
Two Sheds:

Texiera has worked a walk with 2 outs. He was 0-2 earlier in the AB. Still 4-3 Rays. (Accounts & descriptions made up.)
  10:18pm
Danne D:

Right now I'm getting whacked in the EFDHHDYDTY Fantasy Baseball League semi-finals pretty good :( I'm down 7-2. Either way next week it's a showdown between me and a big rival (either Aharon and his Long Bawls or the mighty EFD's Bernie Carbo Loaders). Though it'll probably be for 3rd place :(
  10:19pm
Two Sheds:

A-Rod struck out. It's over!
  10:19pm
john:

Rays 4, Junkees 3.

  10:25pm
efd:

thanks Cheri, I hope so too!
  10:27pm
Danne D:

My mighty combo of Blanton and Lannon both came through with wins so far. Of course he's got guys pitching complete games and giving up 1 hit every 5 innings....
  10:28pm
stingy d:

can you not only come back this fall, but take the friday slot that billy jam has and push him to overnight on sunday?
  10:31pm
Amanda:

Hurrah! A favorite REM jam of mine.
  10:32pm
Danne D:

But stingy, Evan's what gets many of us over the hump during the week.

I agree Amanda - this is a great jam :)
  10:32pm
john:

People always sort of looked at me funny when I said Fables was my fave REM album. But I mean, for gosh sakes, Kohoutek?
  10:32pm
dave:

i know how trite it is to say it at this point, but what HAPPENED to the amazingly great band REM was?
  10:33pm
john:

Three words, Dave: Mandatory Retirement Age.
  10:34pm
VY:

that sounded sort of "jangley"
  10:34pm
Danne D:

I dunno man, Mike Mills was playing great when I saw him play a couple weeks ago with The Baseball Project
  10:35pm
dave:

totally coinidentally, i had kohoutek stuck in my head earlier today.
  10:36pm
Amanda:

I actually first heard Driver 8 on "Eponymous" which was their big anthology that came out right before I think Green? And then I bought Fables. Love Can't Get There From Here also. I am way into the jangley.
  10:38pm
john:

Danne, that's different. It's The Baseball Project!

Kohoutek gets stuck in my head more than any other REM song.
  10:39pm
VY:

Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcast use Driver 8 guitar line for bumper music
  10:42pm
JT:

I once heard a reel-to-reel of REM playing The Tighten Up.
  10:43pm
Danne D:

I totally agree John, but it was more directed at the Mandatory Retirement Age comment.

This is a great song right now btw :)
  10:44pm
john:

If REM had been forced to hang it up ten years ago, they'd have saved us all a whole bunch o' suck.
  10:46pm
Danne D:

lol - well John, the thing is at some point you should just retire them from your ipod/cd collection :)
  11:01pm
Skirkie:

Yes I think it was that Never Mine track I heard in the car while taking some convoluted detour through Rutherford to avoid Route 3 traffic.
  11:02pm
chickenwing:

Right On Brotha!
  11:02pm
VY:

is there any song that refers to 11 o'clock?
  11:06pm
Danne D:

This? :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/11_O%27Clock_Tick_Tock
  11:06pm
Danne D:

11 O'clock Tix Tock?
  11:08pm
Holly:

Heartily enjoying, thank you!
  11:09pm
VY:

omg, i forgetted that one. yeah, tick/tickets... how's efd's brogue?
  11:09pm
john:

Clever, Danne! Only problem is that then we'd have to hear U2 every week, and some of us have weak digestions.
  11:11pm
VY:

it's been years... isn't that instumentalishy?
  11:12pm
Danne D:

Hence the ? at the end of my statement John :)
  11:13pm
Danne D:

Well there's also this....

http://new.music.yahoo.com/all-american-rejects/tracks/11-11-p-m--21476923

?
  11:14pm
coalhard:

rejoice ---no corporate lable on playlist i guess except atlantic but acceptable for now
  11:15pm
VY:

is U2 any worse than Maria Muldaur?
  11:16pm
fromage:

ohh, my favorite OMD song! nice.
  11:17pm
Danne D:

Hey it's coalhard! How you doing?

Anyhow, here's another possibility:

http://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/21858

a song called "11th Hour Breakdown" by Beyond the Implode
  11:17pm
Danne D:

Blondie did a song called 11:59, but that wouldn't seem to do much to solve the dilemma...
  11:19pm
Danne D:

Getting closer, here's a song called 11:52pm by VVV
  11:19pm
Danne D:

Here's one called 11:04
http://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/25701

But it might be 11 minutes and 4 seconds long...
  11:20pm
Danne D:

Here's one that might be a good candidate, but would require a time change: 10 o'clock by ? and the Mysterians

http://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/11625
  11:22pm
Danne D:

But enough playlist searching on the numbers 10 and 11 for me...
  11:23pm
VY:

"but these (tickets) go (at) 11." - Spinal Tap
  11:28pm
efd:

ok, I'm back and will need to do my usual post-show catch-up on the comments that were made during the TGSFKATMTO. I appreciate the suggestions that I've skimmed across so far!
  11:30pm
VY:

flight attendant outfit, please
  11:31pm
Danne D:

The Who's 905 would also seem to be a bit on the inconvenient time side.
  11:32pm
john:

As would be The Millennium's 5 AM, though it's a beautiful song and would imply at least an eight-hour EFD extravaganza!
  11:35pm
cordesc:

sunnyside vs. astoria...
  11:39pm
john:

Definitely one of the twenty best Flamin' Groovies covers of 2010.
  11:40pm
VY:

The Girls was sweet - will check CBC Sat sure
  11:46pm
Danne D:

Time to pack up from the Starbucks. Have a good night everyone! Good night and good luck Evan. Maybe see you in the championship next week! :D
  11:47pm
efd:

  11:50pm

  1:00am
Joe:

great show. Yes I was lurking. I HAVE THAT GIRLS AT DAWN 45. GO ME
  12:16am
molly:

what was the background music for this show? hope it's not too late for a response.
  1:11pm
efd:

Oh, it's never too late for a response! The background music is a loop of "Saturday Night Fever" by Lordz Of Brooklyn, from 1993 or so. (And, as you probably noticed, "Saturday Night Fever" itself loops a sample from "American Woman" by the Guess Who.)

Thanks for listening!
