Listener comments!

  12:07am
dave:

that girl thinks she's the queen of the neighborhood.

know what?

SHE'S RIGHT.

love. this. song.
  12:07am
dave:

oh, and go figure i'd botch the lyrics.
  12:12am
Therese:

I botch lyrics all the time. No judgment from me!
  12:20am
Pappy:

Why does the remind me of Sally Timms?
  12:21am
Therese:

Loretta Lynn? Or Neko Case?
  12:22am
Pappy:

Neko Case
  12:25am
Therese:

I can see that- particularly on this album.
  12:28am
coalhard:

i think i got sawdust in my eye--i'm tearin up real bad also my mouth watterin for more--thanks therese
  12:35am
Spoony:

Please tell me you have some Green Day to play.
  12:38am
Therese:

Ha! Spoony, if you can get here before 3 am with your copy of Kerplunk, I will play it.
  12:42am
Gerry:

Numero group costs me a lot of god damned money.
  12:43am
Therese:

Gerry, I'd say that it's worth every penny spent!
  12:46am
Gerry:

oh, they're all more than worth it, They've just created an unstoppable addiction when I go to the record store.....
  12:48am
coalhard:

do you hear that chalie sheen --your wasting your stupid money--you should be here
  1:12am
coalhard:

i love indie music the best but has any one noticed how willey nelson is so addicted to music
  1:14am
coalhard:

hang in there willie
  1:26am
Jack:

James really does a nice little Robert Smith yelp there.
  1:31am
Elwyn:

Wow. I've just wandered in here and am amazed at the great songs I've missed: Neko, GbV, Bruce!
  1:35am
coalhard:

this is the best radio show on internet!!!!
  1:36am
Therese:

Thank you Elywn & Coalhard!
  1:40am
coalhard:

there are about 80 other shows on right now--and i have sampled them all --none compare to this!!
  1:40am
Therese:

Jack- I'm tempted to go pull a Cure record, but C's are all the way on the other side of the library.
  1:50am
Elwyn:

Some of the money from the forthcoming marathon should be used to purchase and train flying monkeys to retrieve records when needed.
  1:50am
coalhard:

i am not with winamp--but you can sample 80 stations in two minutes--and pick the best!!!--but you have to program it --then so fun
  1:53am
coalhard:

and is free--so you can donate to station of choice--please donate to wfmu--i love them!!
  1:54am
Therese:

After reading an article in NY magazine about Travis the Chimp, I'm not letting any monkeys near me!
  1:58am
coalhard:

news article out today woman took travis to beach--says he is changed man?
  2:00am
Elwyn:

I remember Travis the Chimp!
I really offended some of my friends when I had the Facebook status: "I with the police had shot Travis the band instead of Travis the Chimp".
  2:02am
Therese:

The entire story was nothing but sad.
  2:03am
coalhard:

yes he is still alive--did not actually kill anyone--but is on probation--hopefully he will type his story here someday
  2:07am
coalhard:

music soothes the savage beast--you see sarah pallin still here don't you
  2:12am
coalhard:

i love sarah pallin--but don't like her--was speaking from moose standpoint!!
  2:16am
coalhard:

i meant so hard to be quiet tonite--and just listen to music-but was drawn in like a moth to light??
  2:18am
Elwyn:

I <3 Nancy Wilson!
  2:18am
Therese:

Me too, Elwyn. Me too.
  2:19am
coalhard:

wow---great choice!!!
  2:22am
Elwyn:

The weird thing is that I have the Essential Heart but mainly listen to disk 2 ie 80s & 90s Heart which had some real shockers eg "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You".
  2:24am
coalhard:

i graduaded high school the year and month alice cooper came out with "schools out"
  2:24am
Therese:

Ooh, that's right up there with "Alone."
  2:27am
Elwyn:

I like "Alone"! It's fun to sing on SingStar and I have a love of powerballads. Best of all, the video! The piano explodes at that critical powerballad moment: the powerballad crescendo.
  2:30am
Therese:

How do you feel about "These Dreams," Elwyn?
  2:35am
coalhard:

this portal closes in less than 30 minutes people--chug the rest of that six pack here on east coast
  2:35am
Elwyn:

"These Dreams" was okay. The softer track from disc 2 I prefer was "I Want You So Bad".
My favourites from disc 2 were "Never", "Nothin' at All" and "Alone".

I know it's probably weird to really like their overly polish stage but maybe that's because I had only just started listening to radio around '88.
  2:37am
coelacanth:

Therese did you school at seton hall? (satan hall!)...(wsou?)
  2:38am
Therese:

I did!
  2:38am
coalhard:

i am a baby bloomer--us blaby boomers mostly get drunk--cause pot is so expensive!!!
  2:39am
michael:

hello from chicago, love listening to your show.
  2:41am
coelacanth:

i HATED that radio station! (well...because it seemed to always play songs like, well, that song you played!)
  2:42am
coalhard:

seton hall radio best known for metal music--a fav of mine
  2:46am
coelacanth:

i really like "metal"music, but the vocals (& the lyrics)are usually unbearable! (Dio being the epitome of such)...i like when they GROWL. it sounds cool AND i cant understand the probably pathetic lyrics!
  2:47am
Elwyn:

coelacanth, I'm going to politely disagree. I hate excessive growling and screamo. I like my Judas Priest compilation. Rob Halford can really sing.
  2:49am
coalhard:

yes but my mirrors shake when i listen to sirrus radio liquid metal radio in car
  2:53am
coalhard:

my free subscription runs out in 10 days--i would rather pay wfmu what they need
  2:56am
coelacanth:

well,Elwyn. i should probably give JP another chance,if you say that. I've never listened to them since early 80s,when i had a friend who exalted them, whilst i was at the other end of the spectrum- in a punkrock band, listening to noise & hardcore. i think i just laugh at artists who take themselves very seriously...and,if they dont have a good vocalist and lyrisist, they should stop being egomaniacs and look for one.
  2:57am
Elwyn:

Therese, are your setlists always so full of variety?
I think I love the story behind this song more than the actual song... but it's a really awesome hymn. It beats the crud out of the popular stuff produced by my local evil mega-church Hillsong.
  2:59am
coelacanth:

Shit it's 3 already! Therese Thank you.
