I am hoping, desperately, that a democratic revolution can change the fate of the Maghreb and the Mashreq, (and perhaps beyond!): and also change the stalemate and hostility of geopolitics there. 	3:52am Adam: Whoops, typo on the Clarks! They recorded as Jericho Jones after the controversy over the name Churchills. I love that first album, though! Found them in a Wikipedia article, of all places. Hope Israel holds up, by the way.

	4:02am yair yona: israel is ok, no revolutions here, though I'd be happy if this goverment would wake up for their winter sleep and take advantage of the revolutions all around, to find new fresh leaders to improve the peace process, and sort it out with the Palestines. no one wants this situation to go along, no one wins. regarding the churchills- the second album, under Jericho Jones was a cool hard rock album but the band had completely changed. they had a third album under the name Jericho, but that was more prog-rock. check an israeli band called Rockfour, they also covered the Churchills and are treated as one of the biggest Israeli bands, in the contemp. psych genre. really amazing band, trust me.

	4:06am left foot back: spent the sunday afternoon today-- not playing cards-- but observing paintings of people playin them. Dominoes, checkers.. it was like looking at a Sunday afternoon in a book :-)

Yes, the Jericho Jones tunes are good, but different and by different lineups, agreed. Will have to remember Rockfour... I've enjoyed Devil's Anvil, who were in New York (and some of whose personnel morphed into Mountain), and John Berberian, Armenian-American oud player.

Sublime Frequency is a great label, but it has more 'world' then psych imho, also for some reason they don't consider israel to be a part of the middle east, no signings of bands from israel - yet. however, there's a great compilation called Wake Up Scheherazade, with two volumes - you'll dig it. psych from arab countries all around

	4:22am right foot left: pierre: in response to your earlier comment, you can make one of those gardens in a bottle -- what are they called.. 'bio' or 'terra' somethings.. Or you know you can build an indoor 'earth room' like walter de maria. Make sure it smells like rich earth & you'll be good :-) .. FYI.. internet says de maria was in an early band with lou reed & john cale? -- "the druds" -- I didn't kno this.
	4:22am Adam: Cool site, thank you! Yeah, I notice a slew of acts from mostly Muslim countries, a bit of Southeast Asia. Afrobeat and Ethiopian soul/jazz revival has been in vogue for a while, as have the other excursions into Third World psych and funk. I've been perusing some of the Latin American stuff for a while, too. Barely getting started on any of the world's regions, though! Amazing what electronic media can harvest for us...
	4:25am yair: if any of you is interested in world psych - really, you have to check out The Churchills from 1969 Israel. the guitarist was Rob Haxley who was in The Tornadoes as well. Also - there was a band here in mid 70's called Zingale, which recorded an album called Peace. if you're into Yes-style prog-rock, seek it out.
	4:25am pierre: it is funny (< not the right word, but it is the only one i got) to hear that some psych music can be all about drums/guitars and some is more all drone sound/synth etc... i'm usually a bit lost with the genre of music when it come to psychedelic stuff, but i love them all anyway. @ right foot left : thanks, i'll search those. i have a few plants, but i'm just complaining that i can't sit a proper garden while listening to FMU
	4:26am jj.: yeah, SF are generally more global, but they've done a great job mapping the music of much of the non-israeli middle east. i dig the recent releases, but there are many treasures. though not vintage hippie music music per se, the radio series--cut-up collages of broadcasts--is particularly psychedelic to me.
	4:30am Marmalade Kitty: Thanks Jesse, great show! Just a comment board observation; comments often digress from the music at hand. Whilst the music is the reason everyone tunes in, I find the odd comment sometimes amusing and interesting! For me as a listener, reasonable comments digressing from the obvious musical topic is ok, and cannot possibly detract from the music... I think the set up is fantastic generally!

	4:32am Adam: I too lack gardening capacity in my apartment. I streamed the Churchills album plus its assorted singles and bonus tracks at grooveshark.com. They don't have everything, but they have many things to try out. Looking for more vintage hippe or garage or funk acts from beyond the North Atlantic and the Anglosphere--or better said, beyond the more commercial classic rock and soul canon (legitimiately great as much of it is). My searches have been fitful and often distracted, but that's life. WFMU has it by the bushel, as do key friends of mine from over the years, as well as some of you newer homies. Thank you!

	5:47am Adam: Yeah, but you and that friend of ours were chatting about this stuff Before The World Changed. The fall of 2001 was too serious to even call post-ironic, but I'll have to look for those essays.

	5:51am Adam: Dear God, just found a Slate article using that term from March, 1999--not just before the death of irony, but before the dot com bust? Fucked up. We didn't meet him before the fall.

	5:56am Adam: Too much of the non-fiction I was reading was simply--serious, verging on humorless--to label it as post-irony: like calling a human a post-embryo. 	4:22am Adam: Cool site, thank you! Yeah, I notice a slew of acts from mostly Muslim countries, a bit of Southeast Asia. Afrobeat and Ethiopian soul/jazz revival has been in vogue for a while, as have the other excursions into Third World psych and funk. I've been perusing some of the Latin American stuff for a while, too. Barely getting started on any of the world's regions, though! Amazing what electronic media can harvest for us...
	4:25am yair: if any of you is interested in world psych - really, you have to check out The Churchills from 1969 Israel. the guitarist was Rob Haxley who was in The Tornadoes as well. Also - there was a band here in mid 70's called Zingale, which recorded an album called Peace. if you're into Yes-style prog-rock, seek it out.
	4:25am pierre: it is funny (< not the right word, but it is the only one i got) to hear that some psych music can be all about drums/guitars and some is more all drone sound/synth etc... i'm usually a bit lost with the genre of music when it come to psychedelic stuff, but i love them all anyway. @ right foot left : thanks, i'll search those. i have a few plants, but i'm just complaining that i can't sit a proper garden while listening to FMU
	4:26am jj.: yeah, SF are generally more global, but they've done a great job mapping the music of much of the non-israeli middle east. i dig the recent releases, but there are many treasures. though not vintage hippie music music per se, the radio series--cut-up collages of broadcasts--is particularly psychedelic to me.

Whilst the music is the reason everyone tunes in, I find the odd comment sometimes amusing and interesting! For me as a listener, reasonable comments digressing from the obvious musical topic is ok, and cannot possibly detract from the music... I think the set up is fantastic generally!

They don't have everything, but they have many things to try out. Looking for more vintage hippe or garage or funk acts from beyond the North Atlantic and the Anglosphere--or better said, beyond the more commercial classic rock and soul canon (legitimiately great as much of it is). My searches have been fitful and often distracted, but that's life. WFMU has it by the bushel, as do key friends of mine from over the years, as well as some of you newer homies. Thank you!
