A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

ooh, Adam Ant sample. He was on Radio 4 this morning talking about his mental illness in a programme called On the Ropes. It was interesting.
  10:58am

If his last name is "Ant" that could lead to developing issues about his place in life. Who would invite him to picnics?

  11:05am
dc pat:

hamburger: indeed, and it's "finished" too....dammit.
  11:06am
kwhitehead:

I watched it! I can't believe how fat James LeGros is now! I loved the post-coital scene where it took him forever to button his pants.
  11:06am
Adrian in London:

Hey trouble, did you see the Mad Men Barbie dolls? http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/10/business/media/10adco.html

Can't believe how badly cut the suits are.
  11:07am
βrian:

Why do you think they call him Le Gros?
  11:08am
mark:

Haynes is one of the greats among living directors - in my opinion.
  11:08am
maureeen:

trouble…i have madmen season 2 sitting on top of my tv, if it makes you feel better.
  11:09am
BW:

We are so lucky to ride in the WFMU spaceship with you
  11:09am
dc pat:

Adrian: right and Joan's proportions are all wrong too...
  11:11am
Adrian in London:

You've been studying her proportions carefully, eh, Pat? But it's interesting that the Joan doll is the most expensive. I wonder if there are accessories too, like whisky glasses and cigarettes?
  11:12am
Carmichael:

Good morning Trouble and troubled people. Running late as usual, right on time ...
  11:14am
dale:

morning trouble, crew....@ annie - i was a housepainter through college and my boss called them holidays. whenever i call missed spots holidays, people look at me funny.
  11:14am
dc pat:

where's Peggy??
  11:15am
dale:

and oh! trouble, love the diamond encrusted sconce of a backboard.
  11:16am
βrian:

Trouble, what's your handle en français? I can't imagine that l'ennui quite fits.
  11:17am
Adrian in London:

@Pat No Peggy. And maybe the Betty doll's arms and legs don't move to reflect how increasingly uptight she is.
  11:18am
Carmichael:

Speaking of newly fat people, I just saw the film Mesrine, and Gerard Depardieu is a real porker. Totally caught me off guard.
  11:19am
trouble:

ooooew those dolls are horrid, sad cuts to the suit is right! tragique...perhaps james le gros had to gain weight for the role.
  11:21am
kwhitehead:

well...if he did he has done an excellent job of it.
  11:25am
Carmichael:

You got the girl group thing really going on today, Trouble. How about some Marvelettes?
  11:26am
dc pat:

aaww. well that's stupid, Peggy's more of a central character than dumb Betty.
  11:26am
annie:

dale: i have to explain the term often.. i love that it's an inside term, as it were.. and you called the running paint rabbits, right?
  11:28am
Carmichael:

And don't forget "cross-hatching", Annie.
  11:28am
Adrian in London:

Betty's not dumb; she's just downtrodden and seething. It's Sally and Bobby I feel sorry for. Better not say any more; don't want to spoil it for Trouble.
  11:29am
annie:

alrighty then, the yellow touch-up is done, trim next.. right carm!!! gonna go across the street and run the store for a while..
  11:29am
dale:

never heard of rabbits! i started painting in the mid-70s and learned from a guy who started in the 1940s. i hate seeing vinyl siding and windows.
  11:29am
listener mark:

Some words do not translate well. Sometimes when the words are put in sentences it is funny. The translations are for the tourist, mostly food or hotel related. And occasionally for the police. "Where are you taking my friend?" "Where can I post bail?"
  11:30am
trouble:

i think dc pat that mad men would be hugely deficient without betty peggy or joan. together they are incredibly demonstratative of the female malady, so to speak
  11:31am
annie:

brian: i'm a retired house-painter. in another life that is. inside and out..
  11:32am
annie:

trouble, you got me through this, thanks~
  11:32am
βrian:

@Annie. Me, too. But now I have a house, so I get to paint it. Yippee.
  11:34am
trouble:

no problem annie. i am a painter first, dj second. not exactly a painter of walls, although i have done more than my fair share, and will no doubt continue that
  11:38am
Listener David in Budd Lk:

  11:42am
hamburger:

where can we see your paintings trouble?
  11:43am
βrian:

March madness refers to hares. Randy ones.
  11:43am
Elias:

You best.
  11:49am
Elias:

This song is FREAKIN ME OUT!!!!
  11:50am
Elias:

  11:51am
hamburger:

holy crap is there a doctor on the comments board?
  11:58am
trouble:

ouch, sorry about that.
  11:58am

Here's hoping Tony Coulter is back on again today on the Give the Drummer stream in a few moments....
  11:58am
