One I really dislike that's caught on in the past decade is to start a sentence with "So" for no good reason. Like someone being interviewed by Brian Lehrer will just answer a question starting that way, and it makes no sense, it's just a superfluous word, having none of the sense of "therefore" or anything.

I dislike the football terms "quarterback", "halfback", "fullback", and "tailback" when they have no reference to the depth at which the back is positioned. I don't mind more descriptive terms like "running back" at all, though. They rationalized the names of positions on defense decades ago with "linebacker" and "cornerback", so it's time to do that with the offense too.

I'd recommend my bubble bath, but unfortunately no type of tub bathing is good for mud removal. What you need for that is a shower with plenty of water and an uncompromised drain. Or just step into the water stream slowly to avoid getting too much mud going thru the drain at once.

I tuned in to the NJ family radio outlet at about 10 after 6 on Saturday and they had a guy touting a Christian diet and fitness book. Not only do you need to eat right and exercise kids, you have to be right with God. That's why all those athletic guys who die young die - they're in shape but they're not "right with God".
