A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Good Morning Trouble and Everyone. Thank you. I love hearing Robert Wyatt so early in the day. This Donny Hathaway thing is ah, not as much fun in contrast, I suppose.

Hello trouble. Stevie sounds as fresh as ever. Cherry blossoms just starting to say hello. Heavy winds mean they may not stay too long.
  9:21am

Triish, thank you for the tip. I think it might be easier for Trouble because people always ask a few times (usually not just me) who is today's artist.

Sunny Afternoon! WOO! Technically, the Emancipation Proclamation freed all the slaves in the South. Lincoln was primarily interested in sticking it to the South. Wasn't until the 13th Amendment that slavery was outlawed everywhere in the US.

Businesses in our area who start up in the suburbs are now working with transit to improve mass transit so they can get inner city workers to good entry-level jobs. I think that is a huge part of the puzzle.

Morning Trouble. Biked in this morning and saw many birds along the river on the way. Funny thing, this weekend I actually saw a Peregrine Falcon fighting with a red tailed hawk over the river. The falcon tumbled into the water and swam to the shore accompanied by some Canadian geese. When I got closer he flew away. All in NYC. Cray•zee.

Tom in Gravesend Brooklyn - some swans did that very same thing to my dog, a Boston terrier. It was like the reaction you get when you put a cross in front of Dracula's face, lots of hissing and revulsion.

David, I did not go when they came to London not so long ago. Still regretting it. Do it.

I have to say, Brian, please take no offense, that I find British comic actors and presenters way funnier than much of the stand-up I've seen over here (and I get most of the jokes, being an Anglophile and whatnot). I think Top Gear is one of the funniest shows of all time.

You preach Girl ! ( mighty woman ) We all need to do more keep our counrty out of wars that are not about defending the counrty( which pretty much means everything after WWII)...which leaves vets feeling like the killing they participate in is more criminal than patriotic. Then Cecile's idea of support for vets any way we can is IT. and all I was gonna say was "great show !" huh!

the problem is, we have lost any common sense. Right-wingers define when/how we go to war, and then convince the country that it's socialism to take care of the vets when they come home. Hopeless.
