A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

A Guess:

People find huge entertainment value in celebrity scandals or supposed scandals. Actual policy bores most people, and they don't want to think about it in detail.
  10:53am
Mariano:

Oh, I was just commenting on how Betrayus has been used before. But I think the danger with the head of the CIA having an affair is the potential for blackmail by a foreign intelligence service. Something similar happened with one of the West German premiers in the 60s, Adenauer or Brandt, can't remember.

Sparrows have 1700 feathers that move independently.
(Not that the cat cares about that)

I heard full moon ensemble the other day on Destination Out and asked myself "why haven't I heard them before?" I just asked myself the same and then looked them up and figured out that I had. Deja not vu.
  11:27am
Jennique:

I grew up with Roger Moore as my go-to James Bond. Later appreciated Sean Connery and that was about it for me. Did not see any other Daniel Craig Bond films until this one b/c Javier Bardem was the villain. Really dug it and I think it is DJ Icepack friendly. Lots of references to Sean Connery/Goldfinger, with original Astin Martin car cameo!

'Feathers: The Evolution of a Natural Miracle' by Thor Hanson
Cat is not that interested in real life sparrows chirping away at the bird feeder here in Virginia. But the radio ones this AM confused her. Not a video worthy freakout. Not like when the bat got in the house. That was interesting.

sfrances from VA:

@Lynn: Holy Smokes, you're another Virginian who also had bats get into the house. We had that last year, twice. No blood, no bites, no death or injury: thankfully, just lots of unrecorded freak out (ours & the kitties')

Des may like Skyfall if he has seen Goldfinger. That car plays a big part in the whole second half of the film. Lots of references to the "old way of doing things" and Daniel Craig is portrayed as an old battled War Horse.

We knew how the 1st bat got in, but still had no idea how the 2nd bat got in--the kitties alerted us to it. We were able to trap /release both but long story short: the walls of the attic of the rental house were infested with them: and it started before we'd moved in. And we moved out...
