One of my favorite relatively recent concert memories was seeing Gov't Mule on a night when the Derek Trucks Band was playing in the same town, blocks away. John Scofield was on the same bill as Derek and the two of them came to sit in on the Mule encores which lasted an hour. Scofield seemed to be both a little out of his element and to be having a blast. I had a blast.

one day we'll hear about why Andy E. decided to kind of kill the band....after the infamous 1997 record co. strike...well ended then but...not really. He's a strange duck

I know almost nothing about them. I just heard that track in '89 tripping balls at the Smart Bar in Chicago and it stayed with me.

Don't crush that dwarf. Hand me the pliers.

Sisters Gimme Shelter is AWESOME.

LovecraftDude888:

I saw the Sisters at The Ritz 1990 for the Vision Thing tour it was stonkin'. And then in Philly in 1997 it was less than stellar

LovecraftDude888:

hrmm I'm a Nick Cave fan for sure myself...but partial to his early stuff to Tender Prey and the Birthday Party too of course

I had no idea there was violence afoot, but i see it on the wiki. I was there to see Chuck and Flave myself; no bad vibes that i noticed.

"a controversial North American tour in double-act with Public Enemy. Fearing a clash between white fans of The Sisters with the black following of Public Enemy, several towns banned the performances, and the tour was cancelled halfway through."

a friend of mine used to make tapes as the alter ego "ANDREW MURPHY' a conglomerate amalgamated goth singer....howlingly funny stuff he would intone over minor chords about being cautious of the Long island girls "Japs" and being beware of them...etc.
  11:13pm
LovecraftDude888:

I never run into goths anymore...esp. not on LI. I saw one guy with his MC jacket on at dunkin Donuts last week and I had mine on...and we were like...wow man far out but he was sub. younger than me.
