You find quite a lot of "Los+EnglishName"-kind of group names on garage/Beat-compilations from Mexican/Latin-American bands. So it's likely Los Black Stars startetd as a garage/Beat/R'n'R-outfit somewhen earlier before they moved on/back to the local musical flavour.
